Katy's second year of T-ball went very well! We decided to let her play for Meridian this year and she played for the "BATS". I decided not to coach her team this year and it was the best decision for the both of us! She has a killer swing and can really hit the ball!!

Katy loves to play dress up with any adult clothes she can find. The dress she is wearing is her grandma Roxanne's (Nanny). Nanny cut up this dress to make it a perfect fit for Little Miss Katy. And of course…she had to pose for some pictures!

Katy's 1st CrossFit Workout

After watching me do CrossFit for so long, Katy really wanted to give it a try. My workout partner Kelly and I designed a very "kid-friendly" workout for Katy to try. The workout was called "Katybug" and consisted of 3 rounds of 10 Pushups, 10 Jumping Jacks, 10 Situps, 10 Box Jumps and 10 Ball Squats. She did great and finished in 5 minutes and 20 seconds. She was so proud of herself!! I was proud of her, too! Of course Madison had to try out a couple of exercises, too. And no worries...Katy will NOT be lifting any type of weight. I will clarify that ahead of time! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Just looking at these couple of pictures reminds me of how onry Maddy really is! I took these pictures in February to document her "curly" hair turning into "straight" hair. She was so sad when she looked into the mirror and didn't see her curls. One morning...very sad-faced...she begged me to make her hair curly again. I am happy to report that the curls have returned! Maybe it was just a few bad hair days??

She got to perform with the Meridian Dance Team during half-time of a basketball game. The second picture is Katy with her completed January sticker chart. A Birthday "Tea" Party

On January 30, 2010 the girls attended a friend's birthday "tea" party. They enjoyed getting dressed up in dresses and hats, wearing a little bit of makeup and had loads of fun playing games with 30 other little girls.

Build A Bear

On January 2, 2010 we took the girls to the Build A Bear Workshop in Springfield. Talk about spending some cash!! Wow!! Why weren't there shops like these when I was a kid! It was our first time to the Build A Bear Workshop and the girls thoroughly enjoyed picking out their own bear, stuffing it, cleaning it and picking out an outfit for their bear to wear. It only took Katy 40 minutes to decide which outfit would best "suit" her bear. I can only imagine what life will be like when she is 10 and picking out her own clothes!

Every year, Santa and Mrs. Claus come a little early to our house to visit the kids and they check to make sure all the kids are being good! Katy asked Santa for a digital camera and a laptop. Yes folks...she's a whopping 5 years old and already wants a laptop. I am surprised she didn't ask me for a new cell phone. Madison asked Santa for a "Whoopsie" Doll. For those of you who don't know...the "Whoopsie Doll is a doll that poops. Great for me. She also asked for...and I quote..."lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of MAKEUP."

The girls went to Brook's birthday party and got to eat cupcakes and bowl!! Madison was very determined to do the whole "bowling thing" by herself. She would not let me help her...and she actually did pretty well! At least she didn't drop the ball on her foot! On June 12th and 14th, Katy performed in her 2nd annual ballet recital for the Dance Center. She absolutely LOVES to dance and LOVES to get all dolled up to perform. Her class performed this year without their teacher on stage and they all did a great job! She will be taking ballet class again in the fall and gets to try tap dance, too!

The Track

We went to the coolest place in Destin called "The Track". There were all kinds of things for kids of all ages to do, including miniature golf and driving go-karts and bumper cars. Katy got to drive a mini go-kart all by herself and she did great! Madison wanted so badly to drive one, too but she wasn't tall enough...and I am not sure I trust her driving anything motorized! So she settled for the carousel and airplane ride. There is video below, too.

Crystal Beach

On May 28th, we departed Decatur on a crazy road trip to Destin, Florida to spend a week with my Mom, Step-dad, sisters and their families. Needless to say, it was the best, worst trip ever! It was the best trip because we had a great time with my family just lounging by the pool and playing in the ocean. It was the worst trip because of the car ride to Destin. Words of advice to all parents: DO NOT DRIVE. JUST FLY. JUST DO IT! We left at 5pm on Thursday and Madison cried practically the whole way to Decatur, Alabama. She did not sleep until we were 4 miles from our hotel in Alabama...and that was at 2:30 AM! The next day, we were on the road by 9am...and 5 minutes into the drive Katy puked all over the back seat. Twice. Yes...good times! These memories will never be forgotten...and thank god for Aunt Julie! Enjoy the pictures and videos!

Easter morning was very interesting at our house. The girls were both excited about the Easter Bunny coming, but Madison was afraid to leave her bedroom because she is actually "scared" of the Easter Bunny and thought he may still be out in our family room! The girls got Polly Pockets, bubbles, movies, jammies, shoes...and Katy got a new glove, bat and bat bag for her upcoming T-ball season.

For those of you who don't know...Madison ADORES her Grandpa Bill, better known as Papa. She has developed this connection to him and her world just revolves around him and what he is doing. For the last couple of months, Madison has been calling her Papa before bed to tell him and "GrandMom" good-night. She asks him the same questions every night, almost in the same order. She says, "Hell-O Papa. When are you coming to my house? Where is GrandMom? Good Night Papa. Goodnight Grandmom. Love you Papa. Love you GrandMom. Talk to you tomorrow! Byeeeeeee! Wait! I have to you something! When are you coming to my house?" The conversation is so cute and so routine! This video was taken the same night as the Pee-Pee in the Potty song. This is Madison's usual reaction when she sees her Papa. She does this every single time she sees him.

This video of Madison singing is priceless. One night, she picked up the microphone to Katy's kareoke machine and started singing and dancing to Elmo's "Pee-Pee in the Potty" song. I think it's from Elmo...but I am not sure! Whatever the case, it is absolutely hilarious! I hope it brightens your day and makes you smile! We laughed and laughed and laughed...

On Christmas Eve morning, the girls decorated their sugar cookies with frosting and TONS of sprinkles! They both had a blast with the frosting part, however most of Madison's frosting ended up in her mouth instead of on the cookie! Katy enjoyed giving each cookie its own decoration - and just couldn't put down those green sprinkles!!

After Santa and Mrs. Claus left, the kids had a great time playing with their new treasures! Katy & Maddy both had to try on Karlee's roller skates. I have one word for it...hilarious. Madison just laughed the whole time she had them on because she couldn't keep her balance. Katy actually did a pretty good job, but I think we will wait until next year to tackle skating!

The girls love spending time with their Nanny! On this particular day, we were getting ready to go tag our Christmas Tree from the Christmas Tree Farm. Here are a few shots of the girls with Roxanne a.k.a. Nanny.

Charley's Birthday Party

We celebrated Charley’s 34th birthday on November 9th. The girls helped me fix chili (which is Charley’s favorite during hunting season) and brownies for his birthday celebration. Katy also colored every single picture in one of her coloring books and hung them on the wall for decoration. Here are a couple of pictures from his “party” – and as you will see – our kids have issues with wearing clothes!

Oh - this costume was a nightmare to put on Madison. She fought me every step of the way, but when she realized it was a dress, she was happy and just looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. Then she just HAD to wear those pink sparkle shoes. With socks. I was proud of her for wearing the headband with halo. She really surprised me!

The Ballerina

Katy wanted to dress as a ballerina and was able to wear her ballet dress from her recital that was back in June. She was a little grumpy on Halloween, but I was able to get a few good shots of her! She loved getting candy...gave all her chocolate to her dad and saved the rest for herself. One piece a day - and that's it!
